'Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. You have turned my mourning into dancing; You have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness.' (Psalm 30)

I want to show you how Jesus will turn your mourning into joy. In Mark 5, Jesus knew that Jairus' daughter would die. He also knew that the delay in dealing with these other people meant that the girl would die; but He also knew that there was going to be a miracle, because He said, "Don't be afraid, only believe". I want to tell you something today, if only you will believe, not in me, but in Jesus, if only you will really believe in Him, you will see the biggest miracle in your life. I believe in miracles; I believe in a God of miracles; that is why I evangelise. I believe in a God of resurrection; not death, but life. Hallelujah! You can have your own miracle today.

Jesus went to the man's house. When they got to the house everyone was crying. I like what Jesus did next: Jesus turned all the mourners out. With Jesus there is no crying, no sorrow, no weeping. The very Name of Jesus brings hope; His Name means salvation; it means deliverance; it means setting you free; the very Name of Jesus is filled with power and glory; demons flee at the mention of the Name of Jesus; at the Name of Jesus men's lives are changed; in the Name of Jesus death is turned to life. Jesus didn't want the family to grieve; He wanted to bring joy.

So many people associate the worship of God with being sombre. Religious people often pray, 'O God, be merciful to me, a miserable sinner, Christ has set me free. When He sets you free it's for life! He sets you free now; breaks the curse and the power of sin; He delivers you, oh hallelujah! That is what He did to the girl in the story.

He went into the room where the dead girl was. He spoke to her my name; He said get up! And the dead girl gets up! Now there is a lot of joy. Now there is a lot of rejoicing. The mother and father, all the family are rejoicing. She is no longer dead. She is alive! What a miracle!

The Scripture says in God's presence is fullness of joy; is it any wonder then that Jesus is full of joy? When Jesus met with Jairus' family, He changed the whole family from sadness to joy. And that is exactly what He wants to do today in your own life. He will turn your sorrow into joy, your mourning into dancing; He will give you a garment of praise to replace your spirit of heaviness.
