How can I believe? Believing is trust and relationship with God. I believe because I know and trust Him. Paul wrote in 2 Timothy 1:12, 'I know in whom I have believed.' Faith is not so much head knowledge, but heart knowledge.
How to find the promises of God: God speaks to us through the Bible. It is important that we search the Scripture to find the answers we are looking for. If I am facing a specific situation, I will search the Scriptures for an answer to that problem. If something is in your heart, then God will lead you by the Holy Spirit to what He wants to say to you, if you will search the Scriptures.
The question of healing: Jesus said lay your hands on the sick and they will be healed. But how does this happen? It's by the power and authority given to us in Jesus' Name (Mark 16:17-18). You don't need a 'holy' man to touch you, it's Jesus who works the miracle. Lay your own hand on your sickness and command it to go in Jesus Name!
Power and authority: Many people talk about the 'anointing', but through all my years of ministry I have discovered something greater and it is 'authority'. Jesus taught in Luke 10:19, 'Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall be any means hurt you.'
Knowing who Jesus is:
It is so easy to say we know somebody, without really knowing who they are as a person. - It is the same with Jesus, we can say we know Him, but you can only know Him by spending time with Him. To know who He really is, requires time, patience and effort. Psalm 103:7 says that God revealed His character to Moses and His deeds to the people of Israel. - There is a subtle difference, they all knew of God, but only Moses knew His character. Make a decision today to really get to know Jesus as a friend, saviour and redeemer.
How to read the Bible:
The Bible is the living Word of God. Whatever situation you are facing it contains practical wisdom and insight. The Bible will literally change your life for the better. The Apostle Paul wrote in 2 Timothy 3:6, 'All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realise what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.'
