All of his life David has been believing, searching, seeking for more of God’s Power, more of His Holy Spirit. In the Name of Jesus, pushing the boundaries of faith… because there are no limits to God’s Power! David lives an experimental life, like a scientist working on the atomic bomb… Knowing the end of his search – the greater explosion of God’s Power, which will be the final demonstration of who our God really is. David knows that to see and demonstrate this Power, this Glory, here on earth, we need to have a Faith… Beyond!

I have what you might call childlike faith. All my life I have believed every word in the Bible and taken it literally! When I received the Holy Spirit, aged 13, I obeyed the Apostle Paul and ‘coveted the best gifts’, asking specifically for the gift of faith to add to my ‘speaking in tongues’. I do personally believe that this specific ‘asking’ was for my future in evangelism. I have always believed that in the life and ministry of Jesus, it was the miracles that confirmed who He was. Acts 2:22. It was and is the same in my ministry – I needed the miracles to confirm the Truth and the Power of the Gospel I preach.

The question is: what is this gift of faith, and how to make it work? That is what I want to show you in this book. I’ve preached on faith all my life. I’ve written books and articles on faith. But at my age, 89, I’m beginning to see things in a completely different light, even faith.

‘Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen’ – I’ve preached on Hebrews 11:1 so many times! I’ve usually preached on faith much more in the sense of the evidence, the substance, the result of your faith. And I’ve always said, faith is not a theory, it’s not a theology or a belief system. It’s more about the substance, the reality, than the hope; faith is the evidence, or even the fact, of the unseen – before it becomes reality!

Hebrews 11 is fully given to the subject of faith. Hebrews 11:2 says that by faith, ‘the elders obtained a good report’. By elders, Paul is meaning the Jewish leaders and patriarchs, those who had gone before. They obtained a good report because of the level of faith that they had, that they displayed - faith beyond that for salvation. That is what intrigues me, that faith … beyond.

A faith beyond that enabled them to … overthrow kingdoms, rule with justice, and receive what God had promised them. They shut the mouths of lions, quenched the flames of fire, and escaped death by the edge of the sword. Their weakness was turned to strength. They became strong in battle and put whole armies to flight. Women received their loved ones back again from death. They earned a good reputation because of their faith, yet none of them received all that God had promised. For God had something better in mind for us, so that they would not reach perfection without us. (Hebrews 11: 33-40.)
