Dear Ministry Partner
Greetings and thank you for your support both in prayer and giving during this challenging time. I praise God for you, without whom our evangelism would not be possible! We are living through a very difficult period, and I am deeply conscious of the many problems facing us all. My heart and my prayers are with you.
After my exhausting weeks of travelling across Ukraine and the new Mission Fields of Central Asia, I have been back ministering in Europe – with some opportunities of relaxation. This will continue through August as I seek to renew and re-fire ready for the largest Evangelistic Missions of the year, this Autumn.
It is necessary, even after 72 years of ministry, to seek the Lord afresh, to seek a more powerful anointing, to renew my total commitment to serving Jesus and receive a prophetic revelation and direction for my coming years of service. It is critical that I remain faithful to my first calling and don’t deviate from what He called me to do 75 years ago on the seafront in Brighton!
As you read this, I will be having my normal prayer time on the Austrian mountains – I pray best at 10,000 feet up! This also keeps me fit for the coming months of hectic evangelism! On my return journey I shall be visiting the Ukrainian refugees who are living in the same building where our office is in Weingarten, Germany.
Please keep praying for Ukraine: if the situation improves, we shall have a full National Day of Prayer in Kyiv later this year – then, when all Russian military have left Ukraine territory, we will be celebrating with our largest evangelism yet in the largest football stadium in Kyiv seating up to 90,000. We need to really pray because Putin is threatening to recapture all the former Soviet States and restore the Communist Empire which was formed by military conquest at the end of the last war in 1945. We also need to pray desperately for world peace because, while the USA appears to be weak, China is already threatening Taiwan which, like Ukraine is an independent democratic nation.
My call from the Lord is for Europe and He gave me a powerful vision which has already been fulfilled in the greatest revival (which was also prophesied by Hudson Taylor in 1889) which transformed atheistic, communist Russia, Ukraine and Eastern Europe. However, as those who have seen my film ‘The Rape of Europe’ will know, there is still much left to do before Jesus comes! Please continue praying for Poland: there is a powerful move of God in the Catholic Church which began with the Charismatic Awakening but needs a further move of the Holy Spirit. Most of the leaders I am working with have received the Holy Spirit – we pray together, this move is still small, but we believe that when God pours out the Holy Spirit in Power, thousands will be saved. One of our staff members in Poland is the founder of the Alpha courses in Poland with Nicky Gumbel’s support! However, we are having to hold back on a major programme in Poland until more finance is available and the war in Ukraine comes to an end.
Our financial resources are being stretched because of the money being sent to support Ukraine and the war refugees, not just in Poland but all over Europe, and also in Israel.
The next major evangelism is in Georgia, 16-18 November, by invitation, not only of the churches, but the Government of Georgia! The last time we held a similar mission in Georgia ten years ago, we faced massive opposition from the Orthodox Church, yet filled the stadium to overflowing! Because of the opposition, the Government held an emergency meeting on the Saturday to pass a new law giving evangelicals full legal standing alongside the Orthodox. Now ten years later, we have the support of the Orthodox Church, as well as the Government – what a powerful miracle! With the threat of war from Russia on one side, and an increasing threat from militant Islam on the other, both State and Church welcome our evangelism, recognising that only the Gospel of Jesus Christ can deliver this little nation – which was the second nation in history to become a Christian State in the 4th century – what a prophetic fulfilment today! What an illustration of what can happen when the Holy Spirit is in control!
This must take precedence over Poland at the moment, as our finances are not large enough to deal with both – costs are up, and income is down! Nevertheless, we are participating in a mission in Kazakhstan 15-19 September, ‘Prayer for Central Asia’, bringing together participants for all over; and prayerfully, another Day of Prayer in Kyiv in October!
Please pray for the Russians to leave Ukraine! Some things are really hurting me: the lack of support from Russian Pastors for Ukrainian Believers, and the fact that I am emotionally attached to those with whom I evangelised – even more in Russia than Ukraine – seeing what is, as it were, the converts from the massive Russian Revival fighting the converts from the Ukrainian Revival. As Russians and Ukrainians live intermingled in both countries, to me, it almost feels like brother killing brother in a civil war. I have spent 30 critical years from 1991 to 2021 in Russia, working mainly in Siberia where hundreds of thousands of believers were imprisoned and killed for their faith. I have spent more than 30 years in Ukraine, where the Revival started while still under communism. It seems as if the enemy of our souls wants to hinder and damage the work of God – although the very Gates of Hell cannot, shall not prevail against the Church. I don’t think that anyone can fully appreciate how I feel – I have given the best part of my life for these people, including a year in one of their communist prisons! With your support in prayer and finance I will continue to work in Ukraine, the victim in this war, but I also long to get back into Russia!
I want to build your faith. I highly recommend that you read my books. The story of the beginning of the amazing Revival which swept the whole of Russia 30 years ago, as communism collapsed, ‘Why Siberia’. My books on how one major thing changed my whole life and made my ministry unique – FAITH: ‘The Power of Faith’ and ‘A Faith Beyond’. And my most recent book: ‘Power – Your Inheritance: The Book of Ephesians Explored!’ – this is a study into Scripture, based on my 70 years of ministry and is a revelation of the power behind my ministry.
Let us keep on praying in Faith that God will answer – prayer changes things – and changes us. Paul reminds us to pray without ceasing. To me prayer is part of my daily conversation with the Lord.
