2019 Ministry Review

Thank you for supporting this ministry in prayer and finance. Because of you, displaced children in Ukraine experience love, care and support through our partnership with churches in Kiev; the Gospel is preached to soldiers in east Ukraine; we have held Days of Prayer in Ukraine and Britain; and young evangelists and pastors living in Georgia, Uzbekistan and Siberia, have been challenged and fired up to continue the work of the Gospel! Each month we send £20,000 into Israel on your behalf to support needy people - and would appreciate your continuing support for this! Also, as part of our continuous ministry in Ukraine, we are preparing for the next National Day of Prayer in Kiev, 6 June 2020. This is only possible with your support - it’s your money and it’s part of our evangelism in desperate times of need!

We all have a role for the Kingdom - preparing the way of the Lord. Just as John the Baptist prepared the way for Jesus, likewise, we are preparing the way for the Second Coming: the Glory of the Lord will be revealed, and all people will see it. How do we prepare the way? People who do not know Jesus need to be introduced to Him. ‘How can they call on Him to save them unless they believe in Him? And how can they believe in Him if they have never heard about Him? And how can they hear about Him unless someone tells them?’ (Romans 10:14.)

Ukraine Day of Prayer

On 8 June 2019, David Hathaway held a Day of Prayer for Ukraine. This is the fourth year this service has been organised. Held initially in response to the armed conflict in east Ukraine, it is now a declaration of unity and repentance, both to God and before the nation.

Writing on 12 June David said, I have just returned from the National Day of Prayer in Kiev, 8 June. It is the unity of Believers across every denomination, starting with the Leaders themselves, that touched me. This was the largest and best-ever event since we began in 2016. Over 11,000 attended: 10,000 in the seats plus 400 ushers, two large orchestras, hundreds in the choirs, totalling over 500, and over 100 police and security staff. I spoke both at the opening and the end, the Patriarchs, Archbishops and Church Leaders of the 20 main denominations led the prayers in between! Four State TV channels attended and made live reports, and the full event was carried on three Christian TV channels, streamed on YouTube and Facebook in two languages. Click here to read more

Day of Prayer for Britain

Jesus was exalted, the Kingdom of God extended, and the people of God set on Fire! Thousands of Christians gathered together in unity at The SSE Arena, Wembley on the 31 August 2019, for a Day of Prayer for Britain. Over 50,000 streams of the service have been recorded as prayer groups and individuals from the length and breadth of the nation, and some from as far away as Australia, South Africa, USA and Russia, joined the prayers on Facebook and YouTube.

Jesus’ last prayer was for the Church - to be one! That the unity of the Body, His Body, would challenge the unbeliever to believe! His last recorded prayer is not for the world, but that the unity of us Believers, the Church which is His Body, might be the witness to the unbeliever! Not merely the Gospel which we preach, but the unity which we have in Christ! Click here to read more

Humanitarian Aid, Ukraine

Throughout the year, David’s ministry supported internally displaced persons living in Ukraine. Following the Fourth Annual Day of Prayer in Ukraine, 8 June, David Hathaway’s Ministry, in partnership with Philadelphia Church, Kiev, distributed approximately 200 food packages to displaced persons living in Kiev. Many of the needy are elderly or families with young children, fleeing the deadly conflict with Russian-backed separatists. Click here to read more

Just before the new 2019/20 school year, dozens of backpacks filled with all necessary school supplies and accessories were distributed. Most of the children we helped are displaced by the continuing conflict in East Ukraine, some have lost their parents in the war. Click here to read more

In addition, working with the Ukrainian Bible Society and military chaplains, David Hathaway’s Ministry in Ukraine made a special trip to the ‘red zone’ in eastern Ukraine, to distribute Bibles and various humanitarian items. The ‘red zone’ is classified as an area not controlled by either Ukraine or the Russian separatists. For this trip in October 2019, we were able to reach people living 200 metres from the contested city of Donetsk. The purpose of these visits is to show the love of God both practically and spiritually to those living and working in such dangerous conditions. Click here to read more

Humanitarian Aid, Israel

As we have faithfully done since 2011, David Hathaway’s ministry has supported and assisted hundreds of Russian Holocaust Survivors and their families living in Israel. Working through multiple partner groups, every month our staff care for the physical and spiritual needs of the most needy, supplying them with food, hygiene, medical and accessory packs, and sharing with them the love of God; in addition, we pay the transport costs of volunteers who care for the elderly and those who need to be visited at home.

Challenging pastors and evangelists across the former Soviet nations

In November David made his first ever visit to Uzbekistan. This was the first step for evangelism of Central Asia. Because Uzbekistan is open to all religions and the churches are being registered legally, the local pastors want us to make this nation the centre for reaching the entire region. David preached to hundreds of leaders from Uzbekistan and surrounding nations, and to one thousand members in one church alone. In these meetings many were miraculously healed, and many received Christ. Their desire is to rent a stadium in 2020 for David to preach Christ and bring a spiritual revolution to Central Asia - which has never happened before! Click here to read more

26-27 October: Georgia is at the crossroads of Western Asia and Eastern Europe, to the west is the Black Sea, to the north is Russia, to the south are Turkey and Armenia, to the southeast Azerbaijan. Hundreds of pastors and leaders from Georgia and the surrounding countries attended this conference, including 130 who had travelled the hard way by road from Armenia. Click here to read more

4-7 July, David ministered in Blagoveshchensk, on the far side of Siberia, on the Chinese border. He ministered on the Fire and the Power of God to heal. He first went there in 1994, soon after the collapse of communism, and has returned multiple times since. Click here to read more
