Dear Friends and Supporters
Thank you for your continuing prayers. Thank God for the release from most of the Covid restrictions! This means that, hopefully, churches can return to nearer normal. However, big questions arise as to what ‘normality’ will mean in Britain. My own, very personal, opinion is that the whole world has changed and cannot return literally to what it was before Covid. But this is like the question of the 50% of water in the glass: to some it is half empty, to the positive thinker it is half full!
As you know, with God’s help, I took advantage of all the ‘negatives’ to evangelise in communist Europe in the worst part of the Cold War during the 1960s and 1970s, and by strong faith and a clear vision from God, turned those negatives into such positives that it saw one of the greatest revivals of the 20th Century sweep aside the cruelty of militant atheism and bring a revival of the Word of God – as confirmed only a few weeks ago by the public support of the Ukraine Government for our National Day of Prayer on June 12th. Look at the outcome of the Jewish Holocaust. Undeniably a horrific genocide. But the outcome was the re-establishment of a free Jewish State in Israel – a miracle which I believe could not have happened, certainly in our lifetimes, without the pain and the horror. We now work on an ongoing basis with the Russian-speaking Jews in Israel who survived both the Holocaust and communism and who are now open to the Gospel.
What we need desperately at this time are men and women of strong Christian Faith and a strong vision of God’s Power to take advantage of some of the outcomes of the Covid Pandemic, and launch an evangelism which will meet the longings and desperation of the people, bringing healing and restoration in desperate times. One thing that the lockdown has demonstrated, is the inability of politics or state to deal with the loneliness, mental problems and the many other issues created by the severity of lockdown. Look at the evidence with our children, who will have great difficulty in recovering the lost year, not only in education but in their mental health.
Taking advantage of a ‘lost year’ under Covid, the fact is that we have not had a ‘lost a year’ – our overseas staff have never stopped working in Israel, Poland and Central Asia, but have had an extra year of preparation – so that now we are moving in even greater strength into our vision and programme of evangelism. The results will be even greater than predicted. This was amply demonstrated some years ago in Poland when, because of lack of finance, we had to delay evangelism by a year; but the result far exceeded our expectations when finally 90,000 attended the evangelism in one day!
So now, praise the Lord, we have the dates for Poland, 18-23 August. I will be preaching both in Catholic Cathedrals and Pentecostal Churches, leading up to the vast meeting in the Central Square in Krakow, with approval already obtained from the Government. With such a venue and your financial support and powerful prayer, we believe that God can repeat in Poland what we see He has done in Ukraine! The Covid situation in Poland has improved, and I neither have to isolate on arrival or on return. However, as the situation changes frequently, this needs your constant prayer. This will be our biggest breakthrough yet and continues into September.
Praise the Lord! We have the dates for Central Asia: Kyrgyzstan is the first week in October followed by Uzbekistan, 9-10 October.
I will be in Israel shortly; it should have been this month, but there was a further Covid outbreak, so has been delayed for a short time until this clears.
We need your financial support as we now have to do as much as possible in as short a time as possible! In fact, we have just had an urgent request from Armenia, where both politically and militarily, they need me to come as quickly as possible in a call for prayer – time is short for those two reasons and others… But all this is impossible without your help financially. Our God-given mission field is opening up rapidly; we need to respond – this is like Paul’s Macedonian Call!
When God put this Mission in my heart 60 years ago, He gave me the Vision and the Anointing to do it. Significantly He also said when I turned from Israel to Russia after the Six Day War in 1967, that my ministry which began in Israel would also end in Israel – but that cannot happen until God’s timing, Europe and Asia are first! But I hurry a little, because the whole world is in chaos, Israel is now opening, time is short… When God called me 60 years ago to leave my church in England to enter this new Mission Field, He gave me a promise that He would supply the MEN, THE MATERIALS, AND THE MONEY! We have the men and the materials, but money needs to be a never-ending stream like Elisha’s oil to the widow!
Which is another urgent reason for you and me to pray! All around us I see confusion. Church leaders are meeting to discuss the way forward, but lack strong leadership. Our government is confused, even as I write this and we wait for the final verdict from Boris. People are terribly confused; some want freedom, but others are opposed to freedom because of fear. Some will take freedom into their own hands, but others are too frightened to even do what the Government will allow. Whatever the Government will have said by the time you read this, two things are ruling us now – fear and confusion! And these are the tool the enemy is using against us. The Bible says that confusion and fear are not from God! But from what I see and hear, the mainstream ‘Church’ has both fear and confusion and little regard for Biblical Truth!
Pray, and again pray through – until we get the victory!
