Jesus spat on the ground, made mud with the saliva, and spread the mud over the blind man’s eyes. He told him, “Go wash yourself in the pool of Siloam” (Siloam means “sent”). So, the man went and washed and came back seeing! His neighbours and others who knew him as a blind beggar asked each other, “Isn’t this the man who used to sit and beg?” Some said he was, and others said, “No, he just looks like him!” But the beggar kept saying, “Yes, I am the same one!”
They asked, “Who healed you? What happened?” He told them, “The Man they call Jesus made mud and spread it over my eyes and told me, ‘Go to the pool of Siloam and wash yourself.’ So I went and washed… I know this: I was blind, and now I can see!” (John 9)
Your life is the evidence of the glory of god
The man is shouting, ‘I can see; once I was blind, now I can see. I am the glory of God. I am the miracle of God. I am the evidence. I am the demonstration.’ - That is why God works miracles. That is why God is going to work miracles in your life. You are the evidence of the glory of God here on earth.
The Bible says we have all sinned. I have sinned. I was not without sin. I am not a holy man. God doesn’t work miracles because I am a holy man. I am no different to you. I have the same emotions as you have. I have the same problems as you. God does not use me because I am a holy man. It is simply because I know Him personally. I know Jesus. He is my best friend. He loves me. He changed my life. This is why I evangelise: I want you to know my Jesus; to tell you that He loves you. Yes, He will heal you. But before He heals you, He wants to forgive you.
I know the plans i have for you… to give you an expected end
Jesus doesn’t just see your sin; He sees in you a miracle that is going to happen. God sees you not as you were yesterday, but as you will be tomorrow. God has a future for you. For the drug addict, in a moment of time, God can instantly break the curse of drugs. Alcoholics, God can break the curse of alcohol. But I am not just talking about drug addicts and alcoholics, but also to mothers and fathers, boys and girls. The Bible says we are born in sin, but God wants to deliver us. All that you have to do is cry out, ‘O God help me, forgive my sin. And when You forgive me, I will forgive those who sinned against me.’
God’s plan for your life is for good, to give you a hope and a future. And it begins when you receive His love and forgiveness. His grace will carry you through this life into a glorious reward in heaven.
God sees what you can become
And as Jesus passed by, He saw a man which was blind from his birth. And His disciples asked Him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that He was born blind? Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the Glory of God should be made manifest in him. (John 9)
