If God did not heal you yesterday, it does not mean He cannot heal you: God can! My God is a God of miracles! God has Power and can heal you. When I had lung cancer in 2003, I went to the Word of God and God completely healed me - no operation, no treatment - I only had God and the Bible, and that’s all I needed to confound the doctors. They were shocked, they didn’t believe God. But I do, I believe in a God of Power, and of miracles.
'I will answer them before they even call to Me. While they are still talking about their needs, I will go ahead and answer their prayers!' (Isaiah 65:24, NLT)
Miracles do not come easy. In 2003 I went to the hospital with suspected lung cancer; one of my daughters who is a nurse, was with me at the time said, ‘Dad, don’t be afraid when they diagnose the cancer. Unless they prove that you have it, you will have no evidence of a miracle when God heals you!’
You can’t have a miracle without a problem! If that boat had not been in a storm on the sea, there would have been no miracle with Jesus walking on the water. If you want to see miracles, God is going to use your problem, your difficulty, your crisis in order to work the miracle. That crisis you have - that sickness, that cancer, that arthritis, that financial problem - God will use this to create a miracle.
God said to me, ‘David, you’ve got a mountain in your life that you’ve got to move, and that mountain is to get that cancer out from your lung. If you can believe that without an operation you can be completely healed, then nothing will be impossible from there on.’ Now desperately seeking God’s answer from Scripture, I was reading from Jeremiah 33:6, ‘I will bring health and healing’; and Jeremiah 33:20-21, ‘I will not break my covenant with David’; and Psalm 89:35, ‘I will not lie to David’; and ‘is anything impossible with God?’ (Jeremiah 32:17&27).
On the Monday I was in the hospital, tubes down my lung looking for cancer - but God had already given me the answer, I knew it was gone. The doctors looked at me in amazement and said, ‘You have no cancer!’
I didn’t go to a healing evangelist, I went to the Word of God and God completely healed me - no operation, no treatment - I only had God and the Bible, and that’s all I needed to confound the doctors. They were shocked, they didn’t believe God. But I do, I believe in a God of Power, of miracles.
The Bible is very clear. Isaiah 53:5, says Jesus was wounded for our sin, bruised for our iniquity and with His stripes we are healed. Matthew 8:16-17 says Jesus healed all that were sick to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah. So healing is to fulfill Bible prophecy.
God will do for you what you cannot do
Then Elijah called to the people, “Come over here!” They all crowded around him as he repaired the altar of the Lord that had been torn down… Then he said, “Fill four large jars with water, and pour the water over the offering and the wood…” After they had done this, he said, “Do the same thing again!” And when they were finished, he said, “Now do it a third time!” So they did as he said, and the water ran around the altar and even filled the trench. (1 Kings 18: 30-34, NLT)
What was Elijah doing? He was challenging the prophets of Baal into a contest to prove who the Living God was: their god did not answer, now it was his turn; but Elijah was making it absolutely impossible for a fire to light his sacrifice other than by divine intervention. Wet wood does not burn! I want you to understand something: sometimes when I am praying, I don’t get the answer quickly, it is almost as if God Himself is making it more difficult, the situation more desperate. Not because God doesn’t or won’t answer, but because God wants to work a bigger miracle. Why didn’t Jesus heal Lazarus whilst he was alive - it was not because Jesus couldn’t, but rather He wouldn’t. Jesus wasn’t planning a healing but a resurrection; this was to prove He was the resurrection and the life (John 11:25). Before resurrecting Lazarus, Jesus spoke to His disciples and said, “For your sakes, I’m glad I wasn’t there, for now you will really believe. Come, let’s go see him.” (John 11:15.) Could it be that one reason for the delay was for the sake of the disciples, to build their faith? Could it be that the delay in answering your prayer is to build and strengthen your faith?
God can! - “Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?” (John 11:40, NKJV)
This is what I want you to understand. Even with healing, if God did not heal you yesterday, it does not mean He cannot heal you. God can! God can! My God, your God, the God of the Bible, has Power and He can heal!
