The Fire of the Holy Spirit

I was so excited when I read in Leviticus 6:13 that when the priests lit the fire they were told it must never go out. How do you keep this fire burning? Through sacrifice. If you want the Fire of the Spirit burning in you then you need to add more sacrifice.

And the fire on the altar shall be kept burning on it; it shall not be put out. And the priest shall burn wood on it every morning, and lay the burnt offering in order on it; and he shall burn on it the fat of the peace offerings. A fire shall always be burning on the altar; it shall never go out. (Leviticus 6:12-14, NKJV)

For the first 16 years of my ministry I was a pastor and an evangelist. One day God said something very strange to me. It was one Sunday after I had been preaching in my church. God said “Shut up!” He continued, “I want you to stop talking, leave your church, go out, and do all the things you’ve been talking about from the Bible. Only come back when you have done it.” - I am in this experience. I’ve seen the Power of God. I want to be a witness of what God is doing. A witness of what God can do in Russia, Ukraine, Eastern Europe and Israel. We need to become witnesses.

Ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto Me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. (Acts 1:8, KJV)

Our God, my God, is a God of Power, of Glory, of Fire, a God who baptises men with the Holy Ghost and Fire. We need to see the Fire in the Church.

I received the Holy Ghost when I was 13 years old. When God filled me with the Spirit, He baptised me with Fire and Power. - This was over 70 years ago; the Power and Fire of God is stronger in me now than when I first received. God has to renew the Fire. God has to baptise me again and again. In fact, recently I was in a meeting when I was praying and the Power of the Holy Spirit came upon me putting a new Fire and Power into me.

I want to you to understand, in the Old Testament, God gave this command to the priests in the Temple, ‘When you light the Fire on the altar, that Fire must never go out!’ (Leviticus 6.) I want to challenge every one of you: when God puts the Fire of the Holy Spirit in you, that Fire must never go out! But people don’t understand, how do you keep the Fire of God burning? It is not with material things, the priests did not keep the Fire burning with wood; how was it kept burning? By putting on more sacrifice. More sacrifice. Even more sacrifice. If you want the Fire of God to burn in you then you have to add sacrifice. You’ve got to put your life on the altar.

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. (Romans 12:1)
