Then the Lord appeared to Solomon by night, and said to him: "I have heard your prayer, and have chosen this place for Myself as a house of sacrifice. When I shut up heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people, if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer made in this place." (2 Chronicles 7:12-15, NKJV)
Thousands joined David Hathaway for an online Day of Prayer for Britain, 2 May 2020. The reports have been wonderful and there were over 13,000 streams of the service! The impact was also very good overseas where many others joined us, especially from Ukraine.
The result – God answered prayer within hours! Government statistics show that by April 29th the total Covid19 deaths were 26,097. Then on the following days, April 30th, this increased by 674; May 1st 739; May 2nd while we were still praying 621; but immediately after praying, when we specifically commanded the death rate from the virus to drop, the daily death rate halved on the 3rd to 315 and on the 4th to 288, and although 366 the next day, still half what it was. The lowest since March.
David wrote: ‘To me this is emphatic – we took authority against the Coronavirus in Jesus Name – just like I did with the storm in Caesarea in 2016. Read the Scriptures, we have an authority in the Name of Jesus, I know, and use it only when the Holy Spirit tells me.’
Jim Oldfield who wrote the closing song that ended our Day of Prayer (which has most moving lyrics), has sent David the most moving email which brought tears to his eyes: yes, despite loving God, but his whole life ‘wasted with decades of Satanic abuse’, he was ‘driven’ to join a church last November! He says that he found Christ and is ‘now working to right all the wrongs’. Hence his song, ‘I’ll never stop trying’. Keep on praying, as Vinesong sang – ‘God answers prayer’!
