Dear Friends and Prayer Partners
Thank God that we have been able to celebrate resurrection, the most important message of Easter! We need that resurrection spirit in our churches now more than ever.
We are slowly coming out of lockdown and I pray that churches will be quick to re-open as even singing is now to be allowed. Personally, I do not really enjoy streamed services. When I am worshipping, and especially when I’m speaking, I need to see people and how they react! The response from the congregation encourages me, and shows me if they are understanding me or not. At least Christian Concern won a major battle because in this second and third lockdown, churches were not legally compelled to close, and Archbishop Welby has apologised for telling them to do so.
We also need to pray for Europe which is increasingly becoming the ‘Babylon’ of Bible prophecy. Pray specifically for Christians in the whole of Europe who are suffering under this Babylonian culture. My film, ‘The Rape of Europe’, produced 20 years ago, shows dramatically why my ministry must follow what God revealed to me prophetically 40 years ago! And if you look again at the whole film, not just parts on the internet, it reveals very prophetically what still is going to happen in the near future in Europe.
I am also concerned at the number of laws being passed which make it harder to maintain Biblical standards in daily life. We are facing a future in Britain where our Christian, Bible based faith is being, not just marginalised, but made illegal!
Pray for Israel after the election – there is no clear outcome. Netanyahu is being asked to form a coalition, but this probably means another, 5th election in the near future. The whole future of Israel is in the balance and needs our prayers.
Pray for me to be able to move and travel to fulfil the work of the ministry, especially Israel. Now, as I write this letter to you, our whole Eurovision Team, here and overseas, is concentrating on re-starting major evangelism. God willing I shall begin in Israel, then in Kiev where we have a stadium booked for June 12th. Funds have been down during this last year, but we are anxious to make up for lost time, so do need much support, both in prayer and finance. Through your prayers and by the Grace of God, supported by a few miracles, we anticipate fulfilling the whole of our original schedule! Yes, this will literally take a miracle, but my whole life for the last 71 years has been a series of miracles. Not just my healings and release from prison – every single Evangelistic Mission from the days under communism until now has needed God to make it happen by a miracle. How is it that some of my largest Missions in football stadiums across Eastern Europe were held despite the efforts of atheistic, ungodly police and governments to stop them?! In Hungary, where I broke almost every law under communism with Bible smuggling and preaching and was finally expelled and told never to return. This was in the 1980s. The miracle was that, after I prayed and stood by faith on God’s promises, the same communist government invited me back, on condition that I united every Christian denomination to participate in the stadium! That was an historic first!
I am concerned and we do need prayer for our programme of evangelism this year, that nothing will stop or hinder us in fulfilling God’s perfect Plan. We have approval for the National Day of Prayer for Ukraine in Kiev on Saturday 12th June, but like everything, this needs real prayer covering. I want also to see the Presidential Prayer Breakfast in Kiev reinstated – it was so encouraging in previous years to see the President and members of the government reading from Scripture and praying.
A song writer put to music, ‘God specialises in things thought impossible.’ One purpose of my ministry is to prove that by faith, nothing is impossible with God! My heart’s desire is to demonstrate God’s power in everything – and I have only just started! Only 71 years in ministry? Eternity isn’t long enough to demonstrate God’s power through miracles! In fact, I am expecting to see miracles in the 1000 years when Jesus rules the world! This is why I am so desperate to have this eternal life – I want to go on seeing miracles!
I remember, in those dark days after I came out of prison with Harold Wilson, only to be rejected by the churches when I said that I would go back into Russia, God gave me a business so successful that with over 50 staff under me, I could give 80% of my personal income to support my ministry and work in Russia for 121 days out of the 365 days in the year! Until eventually Satan stole the business from me, just when I had borrowed over £400,000 to fund the breakthrough East/West Conferences in Germany 1988-1972. Then you and God took over – and the ministry has expanded from 20,000 in the stadiums, up to 100,000! You see how much God uses you!
I only live for God and to see His Power as I have seen it in the Sanctuary! Psalm 63:2. Yes, I want to be like Moses, Elijah, David, and like Joshua, to lead God’s People into the Promised Land! We used to sing such wonderful songs when I was a pastor: ‘Hold the Fort for I am coming, Jesus signals still, wave the answer back to Heaven, by God’s grace we will!’ And together with you, we WILL!
What happens in the ministry of Eurovision is only possible because of God’s miraculous support. But you are so much a part, you as supporters, along with at least one hundred overseas staff, most of whom are volunteers: we work as a team! I need to spend much time in prayer to make certain that I do not deviate from the direction and purpose God has planned. After all we are all working together, different parts of the body, as the Bible says, in order that what God planned from the beginning, 6,000 years ago, can be done.
We should rejoice and give God all the glory for His help and protection in these troubled times. After all, His promise is that He will never leave us but remain, protecting us, from the front, going before and leading us, and from behind to defend us.
