Dear Ministry Partners
What a wonderful celebration for the Queen’s 70th Jubilee! Thank God we have a truly Christian Queen who has led our nation so faithfully. Outlasting 14 Prime Ministers and 13 US Presidents, she has given us a stability which political leaders can never give. Thank God she has remained a strong Christian witness as head of a monarchy that, with its strong Christian symbolism, has led our nation for over a thousand years! Contrast this with the other lesser kings, presidents and prime ministers today who can be removed by public vote, or tyrants like Hitler and Putin who, as dictators, usually come to an untimely death.
For me, born on 17th April 1932, I have celebrated 72 years of full-time ministry since 1950, following the moment when I experienced God’s call on my life 3 years earlier in 1947 aged 15, when I surrendered everything to Jesus on the seafront at Brighton. Like the Queen, my call is not something to retire from, but a lifetime of service to God, which can only end in the final call to ‘higher service’. Like the Queen, who was born on 21st April and made a commitment to serve aged 21 in 1947, followed by the commencement of her service to God and her people at her coronation 6 years later, when she was crowned and anointed with oil as token of the Holy Spirit. Hers is a lifetime of service to God and country, which commitment cannot be terminated by anything less than death! So many over this Jubilee have commented on her personal faith in Jesus, demonstrated by her personal life.
By the time you read this I shall have been in Ukraine for the National Day of Prayer on June 11th and 12th which is being held in Lviv, with live uplinks to churches all over Ukraine, followed by my visit to Kyiv itself, returning on 16th June. The situation in the war is very serious with thousands dying, both soldiers and civilians, but peace terms with Russia are not possible, as they cannot be trusted to keep any promise and would look on it only as an opportunity to re-arm. My own personal opinion, and I agree with President Zelensky, is that the Russians must be totally removed from all the territory of Ukraine. Ukraine is an independent sovereign nation with a history going back hundreds of years, becoming a Christian nation in 988 AD. On the breakup of the former Soviet Union in 1991 Ukraine was one of 15 states given independence.
Immediately after Kyiv I shall be in Armenia, June 20-23, meeting 30 leaders of different Christian denominations and groups to plan for a desperate ‘Day of Prayer’ against political, spiritual and military persecution. Armenia, in 301 AD, was the first Christian country ever, and at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, has resisted Islam for centuries from its foundation in 610 AD. Now she is under internal political threats, and externally under threat of war from Moslem Azerbaijan – all of which could destroy this independent Christian nation. This is followed by the critical Day of Prayer in Poland on July 2nd, leading to a large Evangelistic Mission in the Autumn which, with the support of the Catholic Bishops, will seek to bring a spiritual Reformation through evangelism!
As you can see, my schedules for this year (for a man aged 90) are hectic, but urgent as we recognise that we are fast approaching the last of the ‘Last Days’ before the Return of Christ. Remember Jesus warned that before His Return there would be a time of darkness when ‘no man can work’. Jesus says clearly that we must work while we have the opportunity. As I look back at my lifetime of ministry, it is significant that over the period of 72 years, God always led me to the places where the time was right for evangelism, yet which afterwards closed. For example the powerful years of reaching 80% of Russia (now closed), 90% of Ukraine (now closed). Add to these, all the former communist countries which were so open to the Gospel after the collapse of communism. Europe itself, which has been the least evangelised continent in the world, is now threatened by Putin’s war.
Yet so clearly, being prophetic, God began calling me five years ago to Central Asia, which is now a powerful mission field. That is why I will be in Armenia now, and in November will hold a massive Evangelism in next-door Georgia, so big, it is planned for me to meet with the President of Georgia and the Orthodox Patriarch very soon in order to secure their support for this event to be accepted nationwide! This is the influence I can now have as an Ambassador of the Coming Kingdom of Jesus Christ! All this is prophetic, because it is preparation for the soon coming time when Christ will rule the world – and we shall rule with Him! Remember that Jesus spoke so strongly of His Return and His Kingdom on earth – as certain as His first coming 2000 years ago! All prophetically revealed from the time of creation 6,000 years ago!
My joy has been to see more prophecy fulfilled in my lifetime, than in the last 2000 years! I thank God He revealed so much to me over the years and that my whole life has been to fulfil prophecy – and to witness the final days which are in front of me!
I believe that I have seen the fulfilment of Hudson Taylor’s prophecy concerning Russia given in 1889; my own film, ‘The ‘Rape of Europe’, predicted 22 years ago the present time. All this is what has driven me for 72 years and will continue for the next 20… All that I ask the Lord is that, if I am not to be here when He comes, then I want to be taken up in a ‘chariot of fire’ like Elijah!!! As you know, Moses and Elijah are the two witnesses who appeared on the Mount of Transfiguration with Jesus!
In the meantime, as you can see, our work of evangelism, with your support, continues more heavily than ever. Big meetings in Poland, Georgia, Armenia and Uzbekistan this year, as well as a planned mass evangelism in the biggest football stadium in Kyiv as soon as Putin is defeated! This is supported by all the churches of every denomination who believe that this will attract over 100,000 in celebration of God’s Power in answer to our 7 years of prayer!
We still need massive support for the Ukraine – I shall see for myself the desperate needs of the refugees in Poland and the displaced in Ukraine. Probably over 12 million Ukrainians have fled the fighting and need basic support. Thank you for the money which you are continuing to send which is still urgently needed.
