Demonstration of Power

God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. Then Jesus went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him. (Acts 10:38)

All of us once were sinners whom God loved, chose, fashioned and created. As an evangelist I know that when God looks at sinners, He doesn’t just see alcoholics, drug addicts, the hopeless broken lives. What He sees is the potential, what you can become when He touches you! God is always seeing the future. God sees something in you He wants. Sometimes it takes a long time to become all that God wants you to be – with Moses it took eighty years to form the real man that God could use to do the job! What a difference it would make in your life if you would recognise your potential with God!

God loves you. He wants to forgive you. That is why when the disciples looked at the blind man in John 9 and asked, ‘Who sinned?’ Jesus responded, ‘We are not looking at sin, we are looking at forgiveness. I want to tell you why this man is blind. The man is blind so that God can demonstrate His power here on earth.’

There are two ways that God will demonstrate His power. The first is: He will forgive every sin. God will break every curse. He will forgive your past. Jesus loves you. He loves you so much He died for you. He gave His life to set you free.

Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. (Matthew 6:10)

The second thing God wants to do is show His power here on earth. The God of the Bible. The Jesus I love, the message I’ve devoted my life to, is of Jesus who is alive. Jesus has power on earth. I am not just talking about the future. I am not just talking about heaven. I am talking about heaven on earth, now. There is a heaven on earth. There is a heaven where you live. Heaven is when you know forgiveness; when the love of God touches your heart; when the love and power of God changes your life. How do I know it is true? Every time when I preach this Gospel of Jesus Christ, I can say the same thing, if the Bible is not true, if Jesus has no power on earth, there will be no miracles; there will be no healing. But if the Bible is true, if Jesus is alive today, then He will forgive your sin, and the evidence will be the miracles which happen.

This happened so the power of God could be seen in him. (John 9:3)

When others said he is only a sinner and wanted to dismiss him, Jesus looked at that blind man and said, “I don’t see him like that. I see him as a miracle about to happen.” He went to the blind man; Jesus didn’t pray a long prayer. The Bible is very graphic and detailed about what happened. He spat on the ground, made clay with the mud. He put it on the man’s eyes and said go and wash. The man went and washed his eyes. In that moment the miracle happened. God opened his eyes. He was no longer blind. He was shouting, “I can see; once I was blind but now I can see. I am the glory of God. I am the miracle of God. I am the evidence. I am the demonstration.” That is why God works miracles: so that we become the evidence of the power and glory of God here on earth.
