Do you believe God can work a miracle in your life? All you have to do is say ‘yes’ to His Will. But there is a big difference between knowing in your head and knowing in your heart. You cannot trust somebody you do not know. I want you to know in whom you have believed - and then God can work the miracle: ‘And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, He will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.’ (Romans 8.11, NLT)
I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. (Revelation 1:18, NKJV)
I believe in a living God and a God of Power. And I believe the Bible. This is what the Scripture teaches: everywhere where Jesus went He worked miracles. If you read the four Gospels, on almost every page there is another miracle followed by another miracle. The very ministry of Jesus is characterised by the miraculous. God can work a miracle in your life: I don’t just mean miracles of healing; He can work miracles in every area of your life: financial, relational, emotional. But what is a miracle? When you have done all you can, but still nothing improves, then God steps in and does what you can’t do. Miracles are something that only God can do.
God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with Power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with Him. (Acts 10:38, KJV)
Years ago I was ministering in Bulgaria. The Power of God was so strong in the meeting. I was talking about the love and Power of God. I was explaining how wonderful Jesus is. That Jesus is the Son of God. That Jesus is still alive; although we know Jesus died on a cross 2000 years ago, Jesus did not stay dead! A big miracle happened, Jesus came out of the grave on the third day! He is still alive today, because He is God! In all my meetings I say, if what I am preaching is true, if Jesus is alive, miracles will happen when we call upon His Name. And the amazing thing is: God begins to work miracles in the congregation. In that meeting in Bulgaria, so many people were healed - it was incredible watching the Power of God in action.
When Jesus departed from there, two blind men followed Him, crying out and saying, “Son of David, have mercy on us!” And when He had come into the house, the blind men came to Him. And Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They said to Him, “Yes, Lord.” Then He touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith let it be to you.” (Matthew 9:27-29, NKJV)
In this Bible story, two blind men followed Jesus into the house. They had heard about the miracles Jesus was doing. Those men did not have to say to Jesus, ‘we are blind’ - you don’t need to tell God all your problems: He knows you. He knows where you live. He knows how old you are. He knows every pain in your body. He knows every sin in your life: you can’t lie or deceive God. Yet God loves you. He knows the problem which you have. All you have to do is come to Jesus today; He will ask you a question: do you believe that I can do this miracle?
This is your Father you are dealing with, and He knows better than you what you need. With a God like this loving you, you can pray very simply. (Matthew 6:8, The Message)
Do you really believe? If so, all you have to do is say ‘yes’ to His Will. For all God’s promises are yes and amen in Christ.
One time when I was preaching in Ukraine, an old lady who was very crippled came onto the platform. I asked, ‘Do you believe that God can heal you?’ ‘Oh yes, I believe, I believe.’ I said, ‘Do you really believe God can heal you?’ Again she responded that she believed. But I knew she did not really believe. Why? She did not know God. She was a very religious woman, but she did not know my Jesus. You cannot trust somebody you do not know. I looked at her and again asked, ‘Do you really believe?’ Now she became very religious. She began to bow, cross herself, and kiss my hand. Here was a very religious woman, but religion had kept her from God. When I asked her what did she believe, she responded that she believed everything. But she didn’t believe in God, she didn’t know who He was. It is so easy to say with your lips, ‘I believe, I believe’, but if you really believe God it is evidenced by how you live your life. God wants you to trust Him with your life, with your future. The challenge for us all is the same as Jesus posed to the blind men, ‘Do you believe I am able to do this?’
