Dear Friends and Partners in our evangelism,
Thank you for your generous and much needed financial support since my last newsletter. By the time you read this I will be in Kyiv, leading thousands in prayer for God to deliver their nation. No, I am not afraid to go into what is a war zone. I lived in London as a boy in the 1940s when Hitler was destroying London during the ‘Blitz’ – I was not praying for safety, but that God would bring Revival to London! My prayer partner’s church is now in the very place where I was praying during the war! Amazing how God prepares!
My prayer partner and I met personally for prayer on June 5th and 6th, not realising in advance that it would be the 80th commemoration of D-Day. We prayed over ourselves and the work of the ministry – which is why we meet, but especially over the future of Britain and the coming election. When we look at the chaos in politics, not just in the UK but all over Europe and America, the world itself is in turmoil, waiting for the final redemption when Jesus returns! We need to cry out: Come quickly Lord Jesus and take your waiting people home!
When Jesus came 2000 years ago, Israel where He was born, lived and died, was in turmoil. The whole region was undergoing the military and political change from Greek conquest to Roman. Greek was still the common international language, which is why the New Testament was written, not in Hebrew like the OT, but in Greek – for the spread of the Gospel! The Romans were everywhere, particularly in Jerusalem itself. Today you can still see where their soldiers were quartered to control local unrest. The Roman Empire was built on slavery. Most Roman soldiers were slaves from conquered countries, as were even most of the occupants of Rome itself. The ruling Jews/Sanhedrin were political compromisers. And then you had the militant Jews: there were several Jewish uprisings, which led to the situation by AD 70 when the Romans finally destroyed the Temple.
So, what was the ministry of Jesus? He never mentions slavery or the political situation. His message from the beginning was to preach the Gospel and heal the sick. Jesus and His disciples kept the Jewish feasts but rejected the religion of the Scribes and Pharisees. Instead, He preached His own Coming Kingdom, when He will rule the world as King of Kings and Lord over all other Lords! Jesus taught and commanded His disciples to do the same as He was doing Himself: Preach the Gospel and heal the sick! And immediately after that first Pentecost, that’s exactly what they did – because no military or politician has ever had the answer to the world’s problems. Only the message which Jesus brought.
Reading the Bible during my teenage years I saw the challenge, what was the purpose of the Church and of every born-again believer: ‘Preach the Gospel, heal the sick.’ That’s what I have done for the last 74 years – it’s what I understand ‘following Jesus’ means.
Today, it’s just the same as when Christ came: we need Jesus, the whole world needs Jesus. No political party has the answer, only Jesus is the Way. The wars, storms and earthquakes are just the fulfilment of Bible Prophecy. Today the world needs Jesus more than at any time in its existence. Our God is the most powerful force in this world, and in the universe itself. Our God is a Father to us as well as being Creator of Heaven and Earth. He’s the God of whom Jeremiah says in Chapter 32:17, “Nothing is too hard for Thee.” Then in Jeremiah 33:3, it is the Lord who says, “Call unto Me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things which you know not.”
I love Daniel 11:32, ‘Those who know their God will be strong and do exploits’ – the impossible things! To me, this means knowing who God really is and how much Power He has, then taking that Power into our own lives and acting on it! Despite my age, and any who would stop me, I am determined to increase my preaching ministry and reach many more for Christ. Significantly I sense that God’s Power through the Holy Spirit in my life is increasing with my age and experience. The Fire burning within me, and the miracles are both increasing – because my knowledge of Him grows stronger.
That’s why I shall be going to the mountains in July for prayer, so that my knowledge of God’s Power will increase. I shall pray for God’s Power to come down, and that an unbelieving world will see His Power and His Glory! So then, after my prayer time on the mountains in July, in August I shall be able back in Kazakhstan for evangelism and a massive International SOZO Youth Conference with thousands of young people from the whole of Central Asia and Caucasus. It was powerful last year and will be greater this year. Then after a short break, back to Kazakhstan for prayer for the whole region and evangelism. These men, these young people are my spiritual sons and successors. A break in October to renew my strength then November after a meeting in Newport UK, back into Uzbekistan to evangelise in a large Concert Hall and celebrate 100 years of Pentecostal Christian Mission at national government level.
The first 6 months of 2025 are full with evangelism, celebrating 75 years of Full-Time evangelism, here in Britain, in Europe and Central Asia! We need massive prayer and financial support. As I write, we are meeting with our representatives from Poland who are opening up the evangelical denominations for large-scale evangelism – for which we must raise the funds. In Kyiv the Spiritual Council representing all the denominations in Ukraine want us to celebrate Victory and the end of the war with evangelism, with 100,000 in the Olympic Stadium, to give God the Glory. This alone will cost us more than a whole year’s budget! But God can provide! When God challenged me to take 400 people to Siberia for 3 months in 1994, we had no money and no organisation, Eurovision was only registered as a charity to enable us to raise the money! The cost even then was estimated at £2 million. From nothing, God provided, and every bill was paid – an incredible miracle – we need another such miracle now!

On 9th May we held a historic Day of Prayer for the Republic of Georgia. Over 1000 pastors, leaders, worshippers, intercessors and youth of almost every evangelical denomination, including ethnic Kurdish and Iranian Churches, packed the prayer venue, standing room only, to pray on behalf of the nation – for the unity, freedom and peace that can only be found in Jesus. From Georgia we went to Vanadzor, the third largest city in Armenia. David came to encourage the church.
