Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the Name of the Lord our God. (Psalm 20:7, NIV)
I want you to understand how powerful our hope and trust in the Lord is! We have God’s Holy Spirit living in us! I love Psalm 63, where David says, “O God, Thou art my God, early will I seek Thee, my soul thirsts for Thee, my flesh longs for Thee, in a dry and thirsty land where no water is…” Because we have relationship with God, He’s our only support, our only help. At this very moment as I write, we have this Covid-19 pandemic, people are afraid. I’m not afraid of the virus, but I am concerned that the government and media have burdened us with fear – for months on end, when you turn the TV on, all you see is how many have died and how many will die.
But what you don’t see or hear on the TV is, when we have faith in God, He takes away our fear. In Christ we have no fear of the past, the future, no fear of the virus, no fear of the devil – we have confidence in God! Scripture says, don’t throw away your confidence! Keep that confidence in the reconciliation we have with God – nothing can break our relationship with God, no evil can destroy what we have, we are one with God, reconciled in Christ – and that’s why Jesus Christ is so important in our lives! It’s not religion, it’s not theory, the relationship we have with God is through Jesus Christ! He made the reconciliation!
We need to lose our fear – fear of sickness, of death, fear of man – and we need to have confidence in our relationship with God! Nothing can break it. I’ve got three daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and the wonderful thing is, we’re family! Nothing can break that, whatever may come between us, it’s a blood tie. But we as Christian believers have something better than that! Through the Blood of Jesus Christ, we have a blood-tie with God, we’re Family, He’s our Father, we are His children! We have peace with God! We are one with Him!
See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! (1 John 3:1, NIV)
