God wants to show His Power in your life!

God wants to show His Power in your life! He will use your affliction - that sickness or calamity - and turn it into a demonstration of His Greatness. In John 9, Jesus saw a man who was blind from birth. The disciples, rather than urge Jesus to heal this man, immediately inquired, 'Who sinned?' - They were concerned with the cause of the blindness, but Jesus wanted to solve the man's problem. 'Jesus answered them, "Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him."' (John 9.3, NKJV).

Regardless of the reasons for our suffering, Jesus has the Power to solve it. Don't be so concerned with the 'Why' in your life, fix your focus on the 'Who' in your life - Jesus! When I had throat cancer in 1964, and then lung cancer in 2003, I was faced with a challenge: do I trust God or not? I didn't go to a healing evangelist or some special prayer meeting, I went to the Word of God, and that is all I needed to confound the doctors.

In verse 4, Jesus then makes an intriguing statement, 'I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work.' - Jesus has given all of us a task to fulfil within an allotted time. It is our duty to be about the Father's business while it is day. When the night comes we cannot work, because the light afforded us to work by is extinguished. What has God asked you to do? It can only be done within a set time. Tomorrow is not promised to any of us. Yesterday has passed. We only have today in which to work. Even for Jesus, there was an allotted time in which He could work. He had to fulfil His purpose within the Father's timeframe.
