I want you to know who Jesus really is, to experience His love and power. The amazing thing about blind Bartimaeus is that despite his blindness, he ‘saw’ Jesus - he recognised Him as the Son of God with power. My prayer is that God would open your eyes so that you would have eyes to see and ears to hear: to know in whom you have believed.
Jesus has forgiven every sin: the sins of the past, the sins of today, and the sins of tomorrow. That is the miracle. No wonder Jesus said to the man sick of the palsy, Rejoice, your sins are forgiven! We all have a reason to rejoice today: we are forgiven and redeemed; set free from the curse of sin. There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
God identifies with you. The Scripture speaks about taking up your cross and following Jesus - the cross is not just us identifying with Him, but Jesus identifying with us. When I was in prison for Bible smuggling, I felt so abandoned by God. In the Lord’s Prayer it says, ‘Who is in heaven…’, I argued, “You are in heaven, but I am in a stinking filthy cell, don’t You understand?” Then God reminded me of the truth: He sent His Son to die a criminal’s death. Jesus understood my pain - He identified with my suffering.
Through Christ we have received an inheritance; we have obtained this because Jesus died and rose again. What does this mean? It means you can receive the forgiveness of sin; that the curse and the power of the devil is broken; your healing, is part of this inheritance; all the promises in the Bible are part of the inheritance you have received from Jesus. You have been blessed with every spiritual blessing, all because of this inheritance.
God desires to reveal His glory here on earth. It doesn’t matter whether you are in a prison cell or in a hospital ward, as you begin to worship the Lord His glory will fill the room as He inhabits your praises. “And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be His people, and God Himself will be with them as their God” (Revelation 21:3).
When you are in distress; when nobody will help you; when you have nowhere to go; if you will call upon the Name of the Lord, He will help you. All it takes is faith as small as a mustard seed to move mountains. You don’t need to go to a pastor, prophet or teacher - some person of great renown and faith - you have enough faith to be saved, healed and delivered.
I want to show you how God can literally change your life today. As you read His Word and listen to His voice, you are being transformed into His image. The Bible teaches that we are being changed from glory to glory… for those God foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son (2 Corinthians 3:18; Romans 8:29).
“Jesus, help me!” - God hears the cries of the desperate and anguished. So many people are in the same position as Jairus: “Jesus, it is too late; my daughter has died.” But it is never too late with Jesus. No situation is too far gone; no person too lost, that the power of God cannot reach and save.
